Welcome to the St. Thomas Parish Website.  St. Thomas, founded in 1860, is the original Catholic parish in Southington.  It is an honor and a privilege to be part of such a rich heritage of Catholic faith in our community.

As we continue on this journey we call ‘life’, 2011 will see us prepare to use the Third Edition of the Roman Missal for our worship, beginning in Advent (November).  The words of many of the prayers we are used to at Mass will change as our church returns to a more authentic translation of the original Latin prayers.  There are links on this site to assist in this transition.

Having heard and read a lot about the benefits of electronic communication medium, I have attempted a blog site.  It is my hope to write a blog once or twice a week.  You can follow my blog at http://frnicksblog.blogspot.com. 

I continue to be inspired by the Spirit that dwells in our midst.  There are so many ministries at work here, a true indication of the vibrancy that is shaped by the sacraments God shares with us, and that allow us to reach out to the community at large.
